The WAVE team will be delighted to welcome you in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for the African Crop Forum 2026, on the 12-14 October.
This page provides practical information for invited and confirmed participants, including travel, visa, and health guidance.
Please wait for confirmation of your in-person participation before booking travel. We will offer online participation to those who cannot attend in person. If you cannot join live, you can still register to access videos and meeting information.
Travel Overview
The main Africa Crop Forum event will be held in Abidjan. Full venue, meeting-room and arrival details will be shared with confirmed participants. We will offer support throughout your visit, from information you need for your visa application to arranging collection from the airport. Here is an overview of important information, with details and relevant links below.

Passport: Your passport must have six months validity beyond your arrival date and you must have one blank page for entry.

Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter Côte d’Ivoire.

Vaccination: Yellow fever vaccine is required, along with an official International Certificate of Vaccination as proof.

Routes: Participants from Europe and USA can find direct flights to Abidjan from Paris and many other routes exist.
Visa Requirements
You will need a visa to enter Côte d’Ivoire, unless you are travelling on a passport from a country that is a member of ECOWAS or Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Mauritania, Morocco, Philippines, Rwanda, Seychelles, Singapore, or Tunisia.
You must complete the e-visa before travelling, including uploading your passport identity page, proof of return flight, and invitation letter. We can support with the invitation letter. Details can be found at the links below.
Vaccine Requirements and Medical Care
You must have received a yellow fever vaccine at least 10 days before you travel, and present the official International Certificate of Vaccination as proof when you arrive in Côte d’Ivoire. Participants should also confirm current health and vaccine requirements through official travel-health guidance and their institutional travel office.
You will be required to cover any medical expenses you incur during your visit. If not covered by your institution, you are advised to purchase travel insurance at your own expense.

Indicative Travel & Event Schedule
Sunday 11 / Monday 12 October
Arrival in Abidjan for international participants.
Monday 12 October
Optional small-group visits may be arranged, subject to local feasibility and capacity. These may include farm, village, breeder, processor or women’s cassava processing collective visits.
Tuesday 13 – Wednesday 14 October
Africa Crop Forum: From Ideas to Impact — Co-Creating Climate-Resilient Crop Systems.
Thursday 15 – Friday 16 (morning) October
Separate Gates Ag One invitation-only cassava trait preferences meeting. This is a separate meeting for invited participants only.
Participants should not book travel until their place, itinerary, and logistics have been confirmed by the organising team.
